ABOUT CLARE BEATTIE ART

BIOGRAPHY

Dr Clare Beattie is an artist and scholar based in the Cotswolds in the UK.  Clare studied Fine Art and Ceramics in Kent UK where she achieved BA hons First Class, MA  Distinction, and a PhD in Contemporary Fine Art practice and theory.  She exhibites widely throughout the UK, recieving wide ranging recognition for her contributions to Fine Art including at the Royal College, Sussex University, Hasselt University, Wolverhampton University, and was recently shortlisted for the Jerwood makers prize.   This website features a selection of Dr Beattie’s sculptural work in stoneware, porcelain, bone-china, Parian, mixed media and found objects inspired and informed by the complexities of the natural world and our fractured negotiation with  it.
